Italian media giant Mediaset has joined Clessidra to bid for TV producer Endemol. Mediaset is owned by Fininvest, a Berlusconi vehicle whose former head left in 2003 to form Clessidra.

Julian Carreras, who left Palamon Capital Partners in 2006, has re-joined after stints at Cinven and Thesan Capital, as the firm looks to bolster its Spanish coverage.
